Mr. William "Tony" Anderson

Funeral Services for Mr. William “Tony” Anderson will be held 11:00am Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Pine Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Casey Duncan Pastor and the Rev. Glenn H. Andrews , Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family is receiving family and friends at the residence. William “Tony” Anderson, was called from this earthly life to his Heavenly reward on Monday, August 25, 2024, at Peidmont Augusta Healthcare Center, in Augusta. He was the son of Woodrow Anderson, Sr. and Sara Ann Andrews Anderson. He was born on July 26, 1940, in Oyster Bay, New York.

“Tony” as he was affectionately known, was educated in the schools of Edgefield County. He was a hardworking man and spent many years working as a welder for Tranter Industries in Edgefield.

Tony met, fell in love and married Omelia Talbert in 1968. Over 56 years, “Tony” shared his life, ups and downs, good and bad, and a lot of life’s milestones with the love of his life, Omelia Talbert. This was a bond that grew stronger as the years continued. This bond produced one son, Darrin Anderson. Tony was truly loved and will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow Jr., Charles Arthur, and Horace Anderson. Also, two sisters preceded him in death, Pearl Jean Emanuel and Mary Frances.

He leaves to love, honor, and cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 56 years, Omelia T. Anderson, of the home; a son, Darrin Anderson; two sisters, Elizabeth Coates, Philadelphia, PA and Gail Anderson, Aiken, SC, a brother, Nathan Anderson, Sr. (Louise), Phoenix AZ; sisters-in-law, Shirley Anderson, Marie Anderson, Yvonne Anderson, Alpha Carr, Waldorf, MD, Beatrice Plater, Edgefield, Annie Christie, Edgefield, Martha Walker, Edgefield, SC, Janie Ruth Talbert, McCormick, SC, Joanne Talbert, Greensboro NC, and Mildred Goodwin, an aunt, Farie Bell Andrews, Johnston, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



Charles Nicholson

Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Nicholson will be held 1:00pm Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Rosa Spring Baptist Church where the Rev. Winston. G. Oliphant is Pastor/ Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Sunset Gardens Memorial Cemetery on Highway 23 (Columbia Road, Johnston, SC).

Viewing will be from 11:00am - 6:00pm Friday at the Amos & Sons Funeral Home, Johnston. The family will receive family and friends at the residence.

Charles Nicholson, age 59, departed this early life on Augusta 20, 2024 at WellStar MCG, Augusta, GA. Charles was born in Johnston, SC on May 25. 1965 to the late Tol (Hamp) Nicholson and the late Annie Mae Marshall Nicholson.

Charles graduated from Strom Thurmond High in 1985. After high school he worked for Graniteville Company for 13 years. He then changed jobs and started working at Trantech Radiator Products for 19 years until he became ill and had to resign.

Charles joined Rosa Spring Baptist Church at an early age. Years later he was ordained as a Deacon.

His parents and brother, Alvin Nicholson, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories; a loving wife; Yvonne Bryant Nicholson of the home, one son; Charles J. Nicholson, of Aiken, SC; two daughters; Natalie Williams, of Trenton, SC and Tori Nicholson of Dallas, TX; four brothers; James Nicholson of Rochester, NY, Jerry Nicholson of Trenton, SC; John Nicholson of Edgefield, SC and Alfred (Beauty) Anthony of Nashville, TN; two sisters; Barbara Weaver, of Columbus, OH; Bessie Nicholson of Lexington, SC; two brother-in-laws, Luther Bryant and Nathaniel Bryant of Johnston; four sisters-in-laws; Janette Nicholson of Edgefield, SC; Sharon Griffin-Nicholson of Lexington, SC; Marie Williams and Delane Bryant both of Johnston, SC; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Leomia Felder Haynes

Leomia Felder Haynes was born on November 11, 1959, in Edgefield County, SC.She is the daughter of the late Enit and Lillie Mae Felder. She made her transition from this life into eternal rest early. Monday morning, August 5, 2024.

She was a graduate of the Strom Thurmond High School. She worked at Graniteville Mills for many years. After leaving there, she worked at the University Hospital in House Keeping until her retirement.

Leomia was formerly married to Robbie Haynes, Sr. They were blessed with two sons, Lionell Haynes and Robbie Haynes, Jr.

Leomia is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Robbie Haynes, Iii, Augusta, GA, and Jordan Haynes, Atlanta, GA, her parents, Enit and Lillie Mae Felde, five brothers, Willie, Enit, Jr., Ernest, James Louis, and John Henry Felder.

She is survived by five brothers, Clifton (Sandra), Calvin (Carol), George, Raymond, all of Johnston, SC, Curtis Ervin and Fred Lee, Florida, three sisters, Mary J., Betty E., and Eliza Mae, all of Johnston, SC, three sisters-in-law, Mary Lee, St. Albans, NY, Patricia Felder, Brooklyn, NY, and Barbara Felder, Greenwood, SC, two brothers-in-law, Bernard Haynes, and Patrick Tompson, Denmark, SC, and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends!

Mr. Booker T. Williams, Jr.

Johnston, SC - Funeral Services for Mr. Booker T. Williams, Jr. were held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Rosa Spring Baptist Church, Rosa Spring Road, Johnston, SC 29832, with the Rev. Winston G. Oliphant, Pastor, officiating. Interment followed in the Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Johnston, SC.

Mr. Booker T. Williams, Jr., was called from this earthly life on Monday, June 24, 2024, at his residence. He was born to Dora Mae Williams and the late Booker T. Williams, Sr., on November 22, 1955, in Edgefield County, South Carolina.

Booker T was educated in the schools of Edgefield County. He grew up and was baptized in the Rosa Spring Baptist Church. He was a hard worker who worked for many years for Amick Farms.

Booker T enjoyed being with family and friends. Numerous family and friends spent time laughing and talking sports (Atlanta Falcons) and life on his front porch. His fellowship and wit will forever be missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Booker T. Williams, Sr., and a brother, Willie Williams.

Mr. Tyrone Pixley

Johnston, SC- Funeral Services for Mr. Tyrone Pixley will be held 1:00pm Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Rosa Spring Baptist CHurch, Johnston, SC where the Rev. Winston G. Mr. Tyrone Pixley was born September 29, 1970 to the late Theodore and Christina Pixley. He was a native of Johnston, SC. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 12 noon, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.

He graduated from Ridge Spring-Monetta High School in 1988. He worked as a Cement Finisher for Pixley Concrete and B & T Concrete. He also worked for several other businesses as a Cement Finisher.

At an early age, he was baptized at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, in Johnston, SC.

Tyrone was the life of the party, a beacon of joy and enthusiasm who effortlessly elevated any gathering. With a big personality and infectious expressions, he created an atmosphere of fun and inclusion, making everyone feel welcome and valued. Grateful for his family and connections he built, Tyrone never took a moment for granted when it came to expressing appreciation for the people around him. Our dear brother is described by many as respectful, grateful, happy, and friendly. He was the type of person who would literally give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. His caring nature and boundless spirit made Tyrone not just a friend, but a pillar of support and positivity in the lives of many.

Despite the many challenges Tyrone faced in his life, he never forgot the love of Christ. He enjoyed gospel music, speaking about the word of God, and spending time with family. Some of his favorite expressions were “I’m running my race” and “Every time I turn around, He keeps blessing me.”

He leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings Theola Herrin, Bobby (Tracy)Pixley, Sr., Christine (Reverand Marshall Hopkins), Elizabeth “Libby” (Daniel) Morris, Theodore (Evelyn) Davis, Sarah (Jasper) Brown, Sheila (Jack) Wilson, Patricia Derricott, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sister Annie Mae Hartley Bush

Annie Mae Hartley Bush was born August 10, 1929, the daughter of Lilia Hartley, in Augusta, GA. She was called home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2024, at her residence in Johnston, SC, loved by her family. Sharee said the last thing she did Saturday night was pray. Sharee also said she prayed out loud and told her she loved her.

At an early age, she moved to Johnston with family. She was educated through Edgefield County School System. She was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Bush.

She was blessed with ten children.

Sister Annie Mae Bush was a praying woman. She would start her day with prayer, scripture and a cup of coffee and would end her day with scripture and prayer. She did not play. She was strong, dedicated mother and grandmother, independent and serious about the job of loving and supporting her family. She also took extreme pride in her home and yard. She would meticulously sweep her driveway, care for her flowers and plants and take care of her chickens and cats. She met no strangers.

Sister Annie was a hard worker. She worked for over 30 years at Reigel Industries with a perfect attendance record.

She was preceded in death by her mother, and her children Ricky Bush, Lee Bush, Willie Bush and Carl Bush.

She leaves to love, honor, and cherish her memories: her sons, James Bush (Lois), Clary Bush (Rosa), Chuck Bush all of Johnston, SC, daughters, Daisy Harrington, Johnston, SC; Annie Bush, Trenton, SC and Tammy Bush, Johnston, SC; a sister, Daisy Corley, Johnston, SC; twenty-two grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

John Henry Mealing

Graniteville, SC- Funeral Services for Mr. John Henry Mealing will be held 1:00pm Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church , 3300 Martintown Road, Edgefield, SC. The Rev. Derra Ramsey is Pastor. Rev. Leroy Robertson is the Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

John Henry Mealing was born the son of Jessie Mealing, Jr and Essie Lou Moore Mealing on July 22, 1951, in Edgefield, South Carolina. He was called home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2024, at his residence loved by his family in Graniteville, SC.

At an early age, he joined Mount Olive Baptist Church and was educated through Edgefield County School System.

John Henry loved life and people. But his boys were his heart. He bragged and loved on them in his own way. He was a funny person who kept you laughing. Along with the many laughs he was a hard worker. He worked for many years for J&J Logging. Just know he was loved and will definitely be missed.

John Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Essie Lou Mealing, four brothers, George Mealing, Willie Mealing, Raymond Mealing and Alfred Mealing.

Left to cherish his memories are children, Donelle Strom (Jean Jeffery), Aiken, SC and Lonelle Strom (Yolanda), North Augusta, SC; siblings, David Mealing, Florida, Jesse Mealing, Aiken, SC Albert Mealing, Pennsylvania, Roberta Lott (Edward), North Augusta, SC, Mary Alice Hunter, North Augusta, SC, Mattie Sanchez (Juan), Newberry, SC, Brenda Broadwater (Sam), North Augusta, SC, Eva Moore, Edgefield, SC and Joseph Mealing; eight grandchildren; a uncle, Warren Dozier, Alexandria, VA; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Ms. Robbin Monique Drumming

Robin Monique Drumming was born to Robert and Lorine Simpkins Drumming on November 7, 1982, in Edgefield, South Carolina. She was called home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2024, at Piedmont

Augusta Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

At an early age, she joined Shaws Creek Baptist Church and was educated through Edgefield County School System.

Robin loved life and people. While working at Amick Farms in Batesburg, South Carolina, she became a Shift Supervisor and was loved dearly by her co-workers and friends.

Left to cherish her memories are devoted parents Robert and Lorine (Trenton), a sister Angela (Trenton) a brother Orhroa Simpkins (Kisha) North Augusta, and a niece Adriana (Trenton). Two children of the home, Nelliana and Colby.

Grandparents the late (Willie R. Simpkins) (Corine) and the late Eddie and Inez Drumming. A host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Korey K. Williams

North Augusta, SC-Graveside Services for Mr. Korey K. Williams will be held 12 Noon Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Viewing will be held 11am-6pm Friday, February 23 at the Funeral Home.

Korey Kinta Williams, 46 passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 3, 1977 in Edgefield SC, to Leonard and Ann Williams. He was a resident of North Augusta, SC and was a 1995 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. Korey had a zest for life and was loved by many.


Korey is survived by his mother Ann Williams and step-father James Jones, his father Leonard Willams and step-mother Debra Williams, three sons Ashton, Logan, and Korey Jr. one sister Nicole Mance (Aldwin), two brothers, Desmond Slaughter (Cassandra),  Sheldon Garrett, a significant other, Kimberly Glover and her sons Jared and Zander, and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his Crew of friends. 


Mr. Larry Hill, Jr

Our beloved Larry was born on July 20, 1959. He was one of six children born to Larry Hill and Eva Sue Culbreath Hill. Larry departed this earthly life and transitioned to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

Larry was a spiritual man who had much reverence for the Lord.

He received his formal education in the Edgefield County Public Schools and attended the Strom Thurmond High School.

Larry was a hard worker who provided for himself and his family. He worked as a truck driver for a while. He worked at Amick Farms for many years and when he moved to Charlotte, NC, he worked for the city of Charlotte.

Larry enjoyed life. He was thought of as a funny, loveable guy. He was a good and decent person who was kind-hearted, giving and a sharing individual. He would be there for you in your time of need. He was a die-hard Carolina Panthers fan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Hill and Eva Sue Culbreath Hill. and a brother, Jack Hill.

He leaves to love honor and cherish his memory; brothers, Bill Hill (Gail), Robert Hill (Patricia Hill) who he truly loved), George Hill, and Michael Hill (Naomi), sisters, Gloria Hill (Barry), and Janice Hill.; uncles, Robert Etheredge, Jimmy Etheredge, and Cleveland Etheredge and a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends.
