Ridge Spring, SC - Funeral Services for Mrs. Ora Blanche Broadnax will be held 11:00am Sunday, 1/5/2025 at the Ridge Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Hall, Pastor, officiating. Viewing will be 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 5:00pm - 6:30pm today, Saturday, 1/4/25 at the Ridge Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow the church service on Sunday in the Church Cemetery.
Ora Blanche Broadnax was born July 22, 1933, in Ward, SC. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Williams (SAM) and Ida Landy Williams. She departed this earthly life bound for Heavenly gain on January 2, 2025, at NHC Health Care in West Columbia, South Carolina.
She was a graduate of Ridge Hill High School and furthered her education at Allen University.
She met, fell in love with and married the love of her life, James Broadnax.
To that union, three children were born. Her husband and two daughters, Stuwasky-Hankinson-and Chaurice Broadnax preceded her in death.
In her early years, all of her children’s clothes were made by her.
She was a very intelligent, educated and loving wife, mother and family member. She loved children, especially her own and she contributed faithfully as a community leader.
She taught elementary aged children for many years and touched the lives of many of those parents and children in the Ridge area.
She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables, growing flowers, and making homemade lye soap which she shared with family and friends.
She was a biblically and physically strong woman. Her strength in God was seen when within one year she endured the transitioning of two daughters and was still able to go on.
Patrice commented that her grandmother had the tightest hugs and the most beautiful handwriting.
She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Ridge Hill Baptist Church where she held many positions in the church. She served in the choir, church clerk and many other auxiliaries. While serving as the Church Clerk, she worked tirelessly and seamlessly with all of the past and the present pastors to help the church function flawlessly. Her contribution to Ridge Hill Baptist Church is immeasurable.
She leaves to love, honor and cherish her beautiful memories, a son, Plato Broadnax (Gail), Columbia, SC, grandchildren, great grand, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
